Cam bolts

So I’m doing my lower control arms/steering rack next weekend and am likely going to have to cut the old cam bolts out.

Does this kit from rock auto have everything I need for the cam bolts? Don’t want to get into this job and find out I’m missing something.

Obviously I will need two of these kits but do these include everything I need assuming everything on the truck is NOT reusable?

It does have all the parts for one side. I'd go with the Mevotech Supreme kit if I was gonna go aftermarket before I'd buy something that cheap.

More Information for MEVOTECH MS86042

If you have adjustable UCA's I'd get the 333fab cam eliminators

Gun drilled LCA cam bolts.... now that's cool.

It's a good thing it's greaseable though..... That thing probably welds his self to everything in five minutes from the Chineseium plating.Cam bolts

That does seem very inexpensive for what you get. That's one area I don't like to skimp out on, but your mileage may vary. I would put a very light coat of anti seize at least. Them damn things for anyone outside of the southwest desert always seem to weld them selves into a petrified ball of crap with enough time.

I was considering them but up front I’m stock. No lift or anything just bigger tires

Oh yeah at this point I haven’t even given any thought to them just coming loose nicely. After 26 years I’m sure they are basically one piece now.

I wouldn't waste my money on them again, the D holes in cam washers strip out very easy.

This, those look suspiciously like rebranded Moog cams which are know for stripping out the D holes. Sucks because the idea of greasable cam bolts is great in theory. I would just go OEM and slather them in marine grease. That seems to be the longest lasting solution to this problem. Might as well take the opportunity to replace your bushings while you are in there as well. There's a chance you might not even be able to get a sawzall blade on the outside of the bushings anyway and would have to cut at least one side into the bushing which is what happened to me. I went and grabbed some LCAs from a junkyard recently and put whiteline polys in them and swapped those with my arms with worn out bushings one of which also had frozen cams. I think the whiteline also solves the issue of frozen cams too since even if the cam sleeves freeze to the bushing sleeve the cams will then just turn the bushings sleeves inside of the bushing instead of binding the bushing like with the OEM design where the rubber is attached to the inner sleeve. I even grabbed some OEM cams that were in good condition when I was grabbing the arms from the junkyard and cleaned them up with a wire wheel, they came out looking almost new and of course were way way cheaper than buying ones from the dealership (in fact I think the yard gave them to me for free with the arms).

? Your statement is confusing. I went with marine grease after several people talking about how it washes out slower than antisieze.
