Recurring issues that should’ve been fixed

It took me three drives in rain and stopping hard enough to activate the abs, each time after the abs activated my pedal went soft. Now I have a firm pedal

There might be a way to operate the abs motor from the test block on the intake manifold.

Not only that, but there is a special procedure for the '96-'00 trucks, and a different special procedure for the '01-'02 trucks for bleeding...

I actually did this prior to seeing your message and it helped a little. Still going to bleed them. Any tips for doing it yourself?

Well, what I did was go to speed bleeders. As that's the easiest way of bleeding yourself.

Best to have someone pumping while the other is at the bleeder otherwise...

Buy a motive pro pressure bleeder.

Or cut a board long enough to hold the brake pedal to the floor and wedge it into the back of the seat. I open bleeder and depress the brake all the way to the floor and wedge it in place with the piece of wood. Then I close the bleeder and then remove the board.

I’m not a fan of speed bleeders but there better than nothing.

I used a piece of 1" pvc pipe cut 24" long. Wedged it between the brake pedal and the front of the stock seat bottom. Went underneath, bled, came back and reset the pipe, repeat, repeat, etc. It worked. Next time I paid a local shop. But it worked.
