99-4R Please help me diagnose this clunking sound while hard turn

Please help me diagnose this clunking sound. I get while doing a slow hard turn forward and in reverse. Everything is torqued down properly.

I have new lower control arms, shocks, springs, calipers, pads, rotors, inner/outer tie rods and lower ball joints. Rack is torqued! The clunk started recently about a year after all of the new parts were installed. all factory oem.

The only thing that I didn't replace is steering rack. It leaks slightly on driver side, but nothing major.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you

I would check and make sure your LCA bolts and torqued correctly.

I just did that today. Pulled both wheels and torqued to 96 ft lbs. They were not at 96 but not too loose.

Can the steering rack be making a loud clunk like this internally?

I’m not sure. I’m not familiar with how the inside works. Towards the middle of the clip the sound kind of changes to a more high pitched metallic sound so I wonder if somethings maybe hitting your brake shield?

I definitely hear the metallic sound. Thought about the brake shield, but what could be touching it? I can feel the clunk followed by that metallic sound. I’ll move the boot and do another video tomorrow so
I can actually see the dust shield.

Maybe a brake hardline? I’ve seen a hardline hit the bottom of shocks before at full crank

That's definitely a metal clunk. Does it still clunk with the front end on jack stands with the front wheels off?

There is no clunking or any noises when it is on jack stands. The front steering moves side to side easy breezy. I can hear the fluid swish around in the steering rack. Is that normal?

This clunk is driving me mad! I re/checked every torque spec on front yesterday. I have grease coming from driver lbj, but put a pry bar on it and no movement whatsoever. The lbj is only a year old and not sure how the boot could tear so quickly. I bought the lbj’s on eBay and just hope that they were not imitation Toyota Oem.

Bingo.. Get rid of those fake ball joints. Unless you 100% certain they are not fake.

It's possible that's were clunk is coming from. [ just a guess though]

Also you caliper or rims to hitting the caliper dust shields. As that sound like metal hitting and separating to me. [ Rubbing sound]

What did you torque to 96 ft lbs?

I torqued the 4 cam bolts to 96 ft lb. Thinking maybe the alignment guy left them loose.

I may be wrong. However, those torque specs seem too high to my mind.

Lower ball joints and cam bolts are completely different bolts
