Disabling Alarm

Hey Y’all,

I have a 2001 Limited. My key fob has started dying. The unlock button works great, but the lock button doesn’t at all or does after like 5 clicks. If I lock the doors using the manual locks I am not able to unlock it with the fob. And when I use the key to u lock the doors the alarm goes off. So basically I can only use the buttons on the fob to get in and out of my vehicle which seems pretty dumb to me. So, now that my fob is dying I wish I can open my vehicle and lock it using the keys without the alarm going off. Is there any way to disable the factory alarm to allow me to use my key?

Thanks in advance.

Should be pretty straightforward, I can't remember exactly where the RS3200 is located for you, for my 98 it's located under the drivers seat, just unplug that and that should be all you need

If it is the factory immobilizer you cannot disable the alarm. Try replacing the FOB battery with a quality battery and cleaning the connects in the FOB.

Yup. I unplugged one of mine. the truck wouldn't start. You have to remove the wiring harness completely to correct the issue.
