Anyone running Fox 2.5 Extended front Coilovers? (FOX-883-02-023)

Getting back to working on the truck again this year and wanted to try something different up front. Kings are just too stiff, but I was told by some guys at the shop that Fox shocks are pretty smooth. Just curious if any of you guys are running these and as to be able to comment on the ride.

I want to get my Kings revalved. Might buy the stuff to do it myself so I can dial it in to how I want it.

Well it's because the truck is my only vehicle right now so rather than just taking them off and shipping them I'll need to swap them with something. So if I'm going to buy something and do all that is rather just swap and be done with it. I'm just ready to skip more disappointment...

Not to mention the last time I did a revalve with them for the rears it took like 3-4 weeks and the shocks felt exactly the same.

If I had another vehicle it then yeah I wouldn't mind so much

Dobinson IMS. Come ride in my truck and see if it rides the way you’d want yours to.

Hey Ziggy, sorry for the delay. I'm down! I'll hit you up later today so we can plan something out. I'll trade you a ride for a beer or something.

If you get Fox or Kings again, definitely go through accutune. Custom valving to your choice for free with the purchase of the coilovers, or they have the 90/10, 50/50, or 10/90 street/dirt valving. If you aren't going fast off-road, I'd suggest the 90/10 valving, because it will give the plushest ride on the street. Also, Fox DSC's have hands down the most tuneability out of all the bolt on options for the 3rd gens. Off the shelf they'll probably be stiff, but again with the tune, they should be great and having low and high speed compression adjustments is a game changer. For the most options, you'll have to search through the 1st gen tacoma, but everything should work for the 3rd gen from there.

Hmm okay good to know. If I'm not thrilled by the IMS shocks I might go that route.

Really, I guess what everybody considers soft or firm or plush must vary person to person but I pretty much want to be able to drive the truck like a truck without my spine or the interior of the cab exploding. Drive over bumps, speed bumps, rough terrain, etc. I mean right now if I go over anything rough faster than like 10 miles per hour it's awful...haha.

I'm not sure if they have changed since I bought my Fox shocks, but If using Tacoma spec shocks, you will need to drill new upper mounting holes. The hole pattern is ~15º off.

If that’s the route you go. I’d be interested taking them off your hands.
