I had to assemble everything to take a critter to the vet. When I put the wheel on and spun it, it turned and kept turning. Having the wheel off makes it look way worse because the drum turns have less mass and stop quicker. Might take it apart again today.

I noticed that the brake shoes that face frontwards get much more wear. This pattern is noticeable on both driver and passenger side. Can I rotate the brake shoes so that the shoes with more material are in the position that gets more use?

I measured the frontward shoe at 4mm, the rear one at 7mm. A brand new shoe starts at 8-9mm. So at this pace I'll need to replace the front one before my rear shoe is even half worn.

Minimum shoe material is 1 mm.

They always wear the front rear shoe faster. I don't worry about it. When the front gets to 1 mm of ahoe left time for new rear shoes.

No, not possible.
Ever looked at disc pads when you've changed them, they wear uneven also.
Pads wear +-60/40 to shoes, inefficiencies nah, just the way it is.
