That puts a side load on the steering rack, maybe steering rack bushings are worn? (sorry, didn't go back all the way to see if you have checked/upgraded those)

There's also the slip joint looseness that can cause clunks (tac weld or roll pin to fix), but that is most noticeable on dirt roads at speed, not often with low speed articulation.
