vibration at high speeds and "clink" when shifting out of reverse

It seems that around here people are saying that it could be the u-joint causing vibration at speeds ~55 and up but my problem seems to have an added "clink" coming from underneath while shifting from reverse to any other gear.

reaching up under there it seems that it the front u-joint could be broken or loose, but i have never really dealt with any driveline problems so i dont have any expertise in diagnosing this. it seems like a goldmine for any mechanic though who would be more than willing to charge me out the ass for service on this. it seems that u-joints are relitively easy to replace yourself.

i was just posting to see what you all thought and if you have ever encountered these problems. i have a 99 limited 2 wheel drive with 190k on it.

Thanks for any help.

You may have already ckecked this, but it could be as simple as unbalanced tires, check that out if you haven't already.
Does your Runner pull at all, if so it could be a combination of unbalnced tires and bad alignment. Good luck!
If you have to replace your U-Joints, do it yourself...its fairly easy to do.
