What do you guys think of 32's with ~2.5-3" lift?
Im in the market to get new tires because mine are low and winter is coming . My runner has about 2.5"-3" of lift and i was wondering if bfg 265/75/16s would look funny or not? Anyone have experience with that?
265/75/16 = 31.7" in diameter

This has been talked about many times, so I'm sure you'll get people who say "use the search function", but if I had to do everything over again I'd get 265/75 wildpeaks or another AT tire of that size and a 2" lift. 3 and I think it personally doesn't look great. Also want to keep my cg low, not have to do a diff drop, panhard correction kit, new UBJ, etc. Like I said, 1.5-2" lift on 265/75 AT tires if I were to redo it

It looks great. Especially if there's fender flares.
I have received many unsolicited compliments on my 99 and how it sits with 32s.
That said, I keep fantasizing about 34s and 35s....lol. That next step is real commitment.

Perfect size imo. I've tried 285/75/16 with my lift, and they rubbed. The 265/75/16 on a zero-offset wheel works perfectly for me.

Added these Runcool hood louvers installed when I had the hood, roof, bumpers, and fender flares re-sprayed.

You won't have any trouble with that size tire/lift other than some very occasional rubbing. That's what I have and I feel it was the perfect size to make me wish I went with 33s. I feel they are slightly undersized, but beauty is in the eye of the beer-holder.
Next time.

You’ll be golden with that size and you should maintain reasonable gas mileage vs going with a 33 or more. I say go for the 265/75

Oh yeah, I get 17-17.5 Hwy mpg at 65-70mph on this size tire, I was getting 14 with 285/75. So, another +.

Right on. I think I will try the 265s. I know there are other threads btw but I was seeing pictures on them and I wanted to hear some others opinions too . I don't think the look will be too bad I hope, and if it is then I will just ride it out until I need my next set and then go up to 285s

Lol, I'm on the opposite side of things. I did go with 33s (285 /75 / 16 Falken Wildpeaks AT3 E-rated) and while they look awesome, there has been more rubbing than I expected. I've done enough trimming and hammering to get it down to minimum levels, but there is still some on tight turns.
The bigger issue is the overall reduction in fuel economy (averaging between 14.5 - 15 mpg) and the concern that I didn't regear at all given how heavy the tires are. I know for sure that means my speedometer is registering slightly lower than my actual road speed because of the bigger circumference of the tire. It's not a ton, maybe 2-3 mph at highway speeds, but I do have to remember to set the cruise control slightly lower than what's on the speed-o. I'm also not sure how that affects total miles showing on the odometer.
I also get some light tire squealing around turns. I think that's just because the tires are big and I need an alignment badly. Getting that done soon. So far though with about 4,000 miles on the tires they are wearing evenly.
I wouldn't say I regret going with the 285, but if I had to do it again I would probably go one size down.

285/75 with a 3" lift will rub. I've got a brand new set of toyo's in the shed collecting dust. You'll be unhappy with a 33" tire, take my word for it.

If you go with JBA or SPC or some other high-caster UCAs, the rubbing stops as long as you've properly clearanced the firewall. And, it's just better in general to correct the loss of caster after you lift anyway. The rubbing is mostly due to the scrub radius being larger because of the wider tire's bigger arc when turning. It gets worse when you go to 8" wide rims.
As for the 32" tire debate, I've considered switching to a 275/75/17, which is a 32.2" tire. I think this would be the best size on these rigs with the least amount of clearancing needed and a good-looking fit in the wheel wells after the lift.

I have ran 285s with and without regearing. Definitely re-gear if you can afford to do it. I'm running 4.56s but I have a 5 Speed. My speedo still reads 6% slow. I think the speedo is setup for the 225/15 tires on the door jamb sticker and will never be accurate. I use my GPS to verify this stuff. I just add 6% to the total mileage to calculate MPG's and my GPS tells me how fast I'm going.

I'm running JBA, they still rubbed at half lock backing up left or right with Zero offset, 16x8 wheels.
By properly clearance, you mean beating the shit out of the inner lower fender and cutting the flares if you've got them. Not smart.
Anyway, we can go round and round here but, some people just have to see for themselves and all the hot air from the peanut gallery won't change anything until experienced for one's self.

What do you guys think of 32's with ~2.5-3" lift?
I love 255/85 as opposed to 285/75. Not only are they taller than the 285s but they make the steering feel much better and I can get 18.5 mpg loaded down with a RTT. Plus you can fit 255/85 with barely any clearancing required. You don’t have to beat the shit out of your car and change upper control arms and do a bunch of supporting mods to make them work
The biggest drawback though is you’re only gonna find MT tires in that size which sucks and isn’t for everyone
