Hey Ace! Haha my 4runner is a 2wd so I don't have a front differential. Thanks for letting me know about that though. I guess if I ever do a 4wd swap in the future I know now. I counted the ring and pinion gear on my e-locker and they were 43 & 10 teeth so it has 4.30 gears

Hahahaha. It's classic. At first I try to ask myself do I actually really need to? But of course it gets overturned immediately and yes I do, I must...

Oops I worded that wrong. What I meant was that if your replacing the spark plugs you should probably also do the spark plug wires too at the same time IF you haven't done them before. Y'know "plugs and wires" like they say. Yeah definitley not the coilpack every 30,000 tho, haha I know those are good for a while.

Good to hear that it's a 2WD!

I'm not sure but is there a speedometer gear that has to be changed?

Hmm... I haven't heard of any speedometer gear that is inside or attached to the differential. i don't think our trucks take the speed from there. The only electrical connections I had to take off were the ABS wires. I believe that is how our trucks spedo works. It takes the wheel speed from the ABS sensor

If ABS equipped, there is nothing to change - it is run by the ABS system. Changing tire size requires fixing the speedo, since it is based on the wheel speed sensors. Non-ABS 3rd gens (4-cylinder base models without the ABS option only) use an electrical sender on the back of the trans/transfer case. In either case, you can use a speedo-healer type electronic product to fix the speedo reading.

Incase it's hard to tell what all is in that picture here is a list:

- King OEM replacement coil shocks extended version

- Camburg 1.0 uniball UCA

- Durobumps Front / Rear. Front Primary only, Rear 3.5in version

- OME 906 rear coils

- Overland custom designs adjustable sway bar links

- Stoptech front stainless steel brake lines

- BTF rear extended brake line

- Whiteline poly. lower control arm bushings

I am still waiting on a couple things like the rear shocks and the alignment cam upgrade kit I purchased from KPOFFROAD. A set of the 5-way adjustable alignment octagons and bolts.
I scored a set of 2.5 rear king shocks that are going to be "gifted" to me. Just waiting for those to be rebuilt and I can then put them on. I can't wait to get them. Then I can start putting on all the fun stuff I got!

finally on!

Finally got all the parts and little pieces and little stuff to get this job done. The kings are finally on in the front! Basically took the whole front end off. Took off the spindle the lower control arm the upper control arm. Installed the whiteline LCA bushings and the KPOffroad octogon cam kit, put the new stainless brake hoses on and the Camburg UCA's and of course the shocks themselves. Also spent a good amount of time cleaning everything up so it looks nice and fresh. so Stoked! Still waiting on the rear kings to come in they should be soon. I guess we'll be squatting for now. haha. Time for an alignment!

1 year :)

Today January 24th, 2024 marks 1 year with my 4Runner. It has been an amazing year so far with her. Since I have gotten her I have gained a new passion and learned a ton of skills working on it taking it apart and putting it back together. It's been a lot of fun. She is sitting with around 201,950 miles right now, and many more to go! Can't wait for more maintenance and mods that the future holds. Here's a picture at the gas station. 1 year apart from the first photo on this thread.

Oh yeah i've already tested it out the front rides wayy better than before. I looked at my old shocks after I took them off and they say toyota on them. Kinda leads me to believe those are the original shocks lol. I've been going around town hitting every bump and obstacle I can haha. The difference is huge. I only waited about maybe a month to get them not very long. Is there supposed to be a long wait time on them?

Yeah last I heard they were like a year out haha. That's awesome though, where did you order from?

Great to hear about the improved ride. I know mine was a big difference when I replaced everything up front.
