mix diff gen wheels

tire leak over the weekend hunting and the shop did what they could but said my wheel has corrosion at the seal so its a matter of time before its too late. so new wheels....not the easiest to find (i have the five star for my 02).

plenty of people are selling wheels on FB, most newer gens are 17". from what i could find they're all 6x5.5 bolt pattern and i think 15 offset so it should be good right?

These?

They'll fit, bought a set of almost-new takeoffs from ebay and the Bridgestones off a 5th-gen (actually bought the tires off someone here a few years ago LOL)

I installed these 17 in wheels off of a 2020 4Runner.

Because I wanted my tires to be the same height as stock I installed General Grabber APT 265/65 R17tires

Plenty of room inside the wheel for the big brake upgrade if you decide to do that in the future.

i did the TBU years ago so that's good to know

I've found a few tacoma/FJ listings with tires that will save me the trouble of finding bare wheels and tires. Seems like many of the tacoma wheels will need spacers while the one FJ one I'm seeing is 15mm like the 4runner

The 5th-gen 4Runner calipers are even larger than the Tundra 13WL's so there's more than enough clearance.

i'm meeting someone tomorrow for the FJ wheels. has a 5th wheel for full set with spare. KO2s are worn a bit but newer than my wild peaks so this is a good budget tire purchase.
