3rz-fe oil pan gasket replacement

I'm finally getting my leaking oil pan gasket done. Because it requires removing the differential on the 4wd and the only garage I have access to is my parents, for once I'll be paying someone else to do it.

I have a few questions though, what is a good price for this job? I've been given a wide spread from the local shops, one place that is reputable in my area quoted me $760 (I feel like they might of given me the price for a 2wd because it is so much lower), another garage quoted me $919, and the dealership quotes $1058.

Also when they're doing this job what parts should I get replaced. Is there any bushings that can easily be replaced while this job is done?

Will I need an alignment after this job?

Finally, because my 4runner has leaked oil for such a long time all the vacuum tubes attached to the front differential are disgusting. I'd like to get some silicon ones if they aren't too pricey, what diameter tubing did Toyota use on the front differential for all the 4wd stuff?

I’ll go with the cheapest quote. Any suggestions on vacuum tubing for front differential

I recently did myoil pan on the 5VZ.
1. I didn't need an alignment after, I checked it with measurements and it was unchanged.
2. I would have gladly paid 1000 for this if I had that option. Took me 2 weekends and evenings after work getting this done.
3. Parts I'd recommend changing while in there: steering rack bushings if bad, cv boots if torn as your axles will be off, oil cooler o ring.
4. Change the differential seals if they are bad .. the diff will be out and easy to work on.
5. As you have oil leakage .. make sure to get the cover plate on the flywheel cleaned up.
6. Not a bad time to get your control arm bushings replaced depending on how bad the oil leak was.

Would this be an ideal time to replace the front shocks? I've had some replacements for a while, but I never replaced them because the old ones weren't leaking, but the bushings are toast

Sure it would be, but shocks can be done anytime. Its the front axles etc that can be easily attended to.

These engines are a HUGE PITA in 4wd to pull. As I am experiencing now.

But if I was paying a shop, I wouldnt make too long a laundry list!
