Walker's direct fit and sounds good, but it rots from the weep hole, at least mine did. I would even apply rustoleum annually and it still rotted from the inside. My city also uses brine in the winter, so that doesn't help the situation.

That really drives me nuts. I've been saying for years now that we need to bend road salting. Literally ruins everyone's vehicles and I don't even think it honestly helps that much.

Thank goodness they use crushed lava rock here! It may not melt the ice, but it gives gret grip, even on ice.

Have fun all!

They brine here in NJ too. The "fog" gets in everything, my headlight adjusters were freaking rusted to the point that I couldn't repair them.

I gave up on running 87 octane for this reason. Never really full-on ping, but just some extra 'roughness' when getting on the throttle at lower RPM.

I will say as another update that the pinging has slowly lessened. I presume the computer is still learning as I went from 16.5ish mpg (lowest before the fix), up to 17.5 mpg, and now up to 18.5 mpg. I'm curious to see how much things improve.

Prior to this nightmare I had the truck hitting 19-19.5 weekly on my regular work commute.
