It’s your call. Have the battery load tested and if it fails replace it. What is your system voltage driving? Are you driving it enough to charge the battery?

You’re in an extreme environment.

11.3 is what I see on torque pro when driving, about 11 at idle. Alternator is a denso rebuilt put in last fall.. Battery is 3 years old. i have read that torque pro reads low

this time of year car is plugged in 2 hours b4 going to work and at work 2 hours b4 i leave. not only do I have heaters but a trickle charger on battery.

Put a voltmeter on the battery posts and look at the voltage with engine running. Also from the output of the alt to ground. That voltage will make a starter click for sure.

I never heard torque pro reading low. Let alone 3vdc low during normal operating conditions. The volt reading is the voltage from the OBD2 port.

Hit your alt with a hammer. If your voltage goes back to normal, your brushes are worn or were stuck.

never had a chance to put meter direct, before it was towed. For sure low voltage can make a starter click, but the starter was dragging ( kept going wiht engine running) and some times not even start or click and then a few minutes later would start. Im not sure low voltage would cause that. Sadly not the other night. So towed
maybe I have both going on. Starter and alternator

In cold weather you should be 14+ volts. In my area I’m 14.1-14.3 at my cig lighter and on my ScanGauge.

Read your voltage at the battery and alt output to ground and to the negative terminal.

In ALL weather and all 12v systems checked at a high idle ought be pushing 14.2V -ish. Euro/US/Asian.

PS my "daily activity" on the 99 4rnr is squaring away this leaky azz mess: ( well, basically doing a full mechanical resto - why not?!)
