"Transmission Relay" in the passenger kick panel
Short post: Looking for a wiring diagram for a 1999 SR5 Highlander V6 auto, I need to know what specifically signals that relay and where to find it.
Long post: wife's '99 is doing this thing where she hears an almost constant but random clicking from that kick panel, and an also-random violent clunk from the drivetrain while rolling. Neither happens when the truck is in 4WD, and neither happens while that relay is unplugged. I've replaced the relay and it's still doing it, so I'm guessing that something else is triggering it, but I don't know what. I could use that diagram if anyone has it, or knows what component is triggering that relay and where the wires run.

The FSM doesn’t have the wire diagrams. It’s a separate book. EWD

That relay is triggered by a switch in the side of the transmission. They are a pain to get to. Possibly unplugging it would at least keep it from triggering but you would lose 4wd until fixed.

This is what I was looking for, thanks! Do you know the name of the switch? Is it IN the trans or on the outside somewhere?

The relay that is clicking is called the ADD Relay. It runs the front differential disconnect (Automatically Disconnecting Differential), and that name will help with your search for answers.
On the SR5's, it is a very simple system. A switch on the transfer case drives the ADD relay coil, which powers two VSVs (Vacuum Switching Valves) in the engine bay that use vacuum to move an actuator on the front differential. When that is complete, a position switch in the front differential lights the 4WD light on the dash.

Are you talking about the range switches on the transfer case?
