Is there community interest in purchasing manual hub studs?
As many of you know. We can no longer get oem manual hub studs. Most companies out there sell FJ studs and we have made due with those. I personally have sheared many of those as they to long and don’t allow cones to seat hub properly. I know ORS offers studs that are closer to oem. Their threaded sections are still to long to allow our hubs to be seated properly.
Frustrated with this I have spent the week making my own studs. These are grade 8.8 hardened steel in black oxide just like OEM.
I can also make these in yellow plated zinc like ARPs but they’ll still be 8.8 steel so same strength as the black oxide.
is there community interest in purchasing these studs?
if so I will begin making a stash to have on hand for folks.
my studs are in left of photos. Oem studs on right of each photo

I'd sell at $1.80 each for black oxide. Prefer to sell in qty of 12 so $21.60 plus shipping. I'd sell at $2.50 each for yellow zinc so $30 for qty of 12 plus shipping. Hit me up if interested.

Hell yeah, especially some in yellow zinc!
If I am allowed to ask, how are you manufacturing these?
Also -- any thoughts to add a function end like a torx, e-star, or hex to allow insertion of the stud without a stud driver or a double-nut.

Grade 8.8 steel unthreaded rods on lathe. Cleaned up by hand. Acid bath, rinse, zinc plate, yellow zinc chromate finish, rinse, dry
I haven't crossed the Torx tip issue yet. I can potentially pull that off but as of right now plan on just studs. I personally use a stud installer/extractor myself to install and remove these things.
I quoted black oxide in my original post. Yellow zinc goes up a bit...FYI

Thanks for taking the time to make these and sell. I don't need any just great to see members keeping these old rigs that are getting older each year on the road.

Here are what my black oxide studs look like installed. I used black oxide lock washers I made as well. These are M8 black oxide studs with black oxide washers with m8 zinc plated nuts I started messing with doing as I have a few members asking about other hardware to build "complete hub hardware" packages.

Thanks man. They’re no game changer like your hood struts. But here I am turning the lathe 🤙
