Stranded in Tillamook - P1300 Code

Hi. Wife and I decided to go to Rockaway Beach, but the 4Runner died on highway 6 a few miles out of Tillamook. CEL was on. Code is P1300. Won't start or run. Cranks and tries to start, but then immediately dies. Got towed to town.

I replaced the #1 coil with a new one from O'Reilly's. No change. Ordered an Igniter from O'Reilly's. It won't be here until Tuesday morning.

It's there anyone.local that can help me with spare parts and troubleshooting?

Currently at The Rendezvous. Gonna be in town till I can get this sorted. I live in Beaverton.

Yay...

The igniter should fix it. Do a good visual check and tug check of the wiring to the igniter as well.

Hopefully the igniter gets you back on the road. Here's a link to the 2000 wiring manual. If you have a meter or could borrow from Oreillys. It wouldn't hurt to check out your wiring while you're waiting.

Thanks, guys. A buddy of mine came to Tillamook and took me back to the other side of the mountain. The Hillsboro O'Reilly's had an igniter in stock. Picked it up, drove back and installed it. Engine fired right up!

The wiring looks good all the way around. I'll do a more thorough inspection when I get home. Standing in a parking lot in the cold, wind and rain while hunting for wiring problems isn't my idea of a good time. I'm glad that it was an "easy" fix. $411.00 for the part. Lifetime Warranty.

To be on the safer side, I am probably going to get an updated and refurbed ECU from these guys: 2000 Toyota 4Runner 3.4L - PCM ECM ECU | 89666-35170-84 | Flagship One - I can deal with this when I get home. Has anyone dealt with them? 15 years in the biz and they program it for your VIN.

Anyway, I'm glad that's sorted. We're just gonna stay for a few days because why not?

Cheers!
