sr5 fog lamps on a limited

Wife met a deer in her 97 Limited.
New front bumper and associated parts needed.

While we are swapping parts, I want to add some much needed fog lamps, as the dealer installed hideous rectangle ones are just awful.

Would the lower bumper of an sr5 with those lovely round fog lamps on the corners work ?

I can't forsee a real problem except when it comes to mounting that forward bit of the fender flare.

I'm 99% sure it would work in the sense of mounting it but I'm not sure if you would have the harness for it. And tbh you'd probably be better off with some good LED pods, the factory fog lights have a LOT to be desired and they are an absolute pain in the ass to change out the bulbs

Definitely looking at aftermarket lights. the harness for those old rectangular ones is there, but I'm also not afraid of running the wiring myself if needed.

You are missing something here - the round fog lights fit the '99-'02 "fat lip" front bumper. The rectangle fog lights you have fit the '96-'98 front bumper. The lower and upper sections are completely different between the two sub-generations.

You would need to do 'fat lip' bumper conversion to use the OEM round fog lights - and find the right chrome bumper with holes for the flare extensions (I think it was a '00 SR5 with sport flare only thing). Not an easy thing just to get round fog lights.

stumbled across this problem in my search and just reverted back to getting the OE style and I'll mount my own fog lights when I'm done.

Thanks all for the info
