Tap a lead into #1 injector wiring?

Folks, I am doing a mechanical restoration on a 99. There is this tan thin wire which was tapped into the #1 injector wiring. I haven't chased it down once it goes thru the bulkhead.

Such a thin unprotected wire I cannot imagine it is factory, and I cant seem to find a wiring schematic to help.

Anyone ever seen this> ? I assume it maybe for a car alarm or something> ?

TIA.

Clueless in Buffalo.

I think aftermarket remote start systems use something like that to monitor engine RPM. If it no longer has a remote start system, I'd remove the wire.
