Rear Dome Light Repair

Howdy Y'all,

The Timmy the Toolman show has another video for you that shows how to retain your rear dome light function by repairing the switch inside the rear hatch locking mechanism. We learned about this repair from @habanero who did a nice write-up on Yota Tech. So, thanks Habanero for sharing the tech so we could film this repair.

Hey, if it helps someone I'm happy.

Of course as you said check all the usual suspects like the bulb and those wires between the hatch and body, a common breakage site. My latch was a little easier to get apart than yours, maybe I had a little luck. Looking at all the corrosion on the red wire in the video it looks like it'd been at least mostly broken for awhile.
And mine was the one with the bug in it.

In 2011 it was a bug, in 2021 it was corrosion the switch contacts.
