I've found that 3rd Gen 4Runner aftermarket bumpers are less expensive than 5th Gen 4Runners, 3rd Gen Tacomas, Jeeps, Etc. Sometimes considerably less expensive. Aftermarket offroad accessories prices are through the roof the last couple years. But to answer your question, I don't think that other vehicles bumpers will fit on a 3rd Gen 4Runner. At least not without considerable modification.
