I fixed the issue with a pocket knife, didn't even remove that much material. I wouldn't let such an easily fixable problem dissuade you. Even with the small amount removed they still have better coverage than anything I've seen.
I need a mat that goes up a bit since I often have snowy boots on. If you don't need that and don't want that, Husky makes one's that are cheaper

Could be worse - the FACTORY floor mats on my '89 Camry (got a couple of NOS sets ~10 years back) interfere with the clutch pedal in that, and there is no clip on the floor either to make sure it is perfectly in place.
I trimmed a bit on the rear Weathertechs to allow better rear heater airflow even though I never use the rear heater... The fronts are great and fit perfect, though I have an auto so I can't comment on the question for the OP.
