What’s better than a 3rd gen
2- 3rd gen’s. Added this silver limited today. Don’t need it just kind of had to have it. 427k on the clock and runs perfect

4th gen with a v8 for fun or a SAS swapped gen 1 for different fun. For your level of reliability its hard to beat them 3rds. My dads got a rebuild 2000 that runs smoother, quieter, better mpg and easier to drive than my 5th gen

Miatas are pretty good too, but that's certainly an orange to the 4Runner apples.
Heh, I like to mix up the tall and slow off road stuff with low and fast road stuff too.

I'd say it has to be a fully equipped, dual tank, expedition ready 3rd gen diesel 4Runner
...had to show off

well up here, it might not be historic tags, if a vehicle is over 20 years old, you can get "Z" tags, which after you get them you dont need to register your rig or get tags anymore.
and regardless of age, no inspections or smog tests up here
