I would love to see the site get back to a fully operating status because I've used this site for years. I may not be the most active member but I try to add information and research information whenever needed. I will say I love this site and if there's anything that I as a user can do to contribute to getting its operation back to full status that I would be willing to do that.

Oh yeah, it is brutal. I really hope they get it fixed.

If my browser's cache was the issue, wouldn't it affect other websites as well and not just this one?
I ask because it blazing fast on all other websites I visit, this website is the only issue I have, and usually not even this one until lately.

This forum has been unreliable the past 24-48 hrs. If you have people you only know how to contact through this forum I suggest you get other contact info just in case.
I think it'd be a REALLY good idea to back up the threads before they're lost of the sands of time. I'd be happy to chip in for such an effort as long as whoever it is promises to make it available elsewhere at some point
I hope for the best, but without clarification from site admins it's impossible to know which downage will be the end.
I had to copy this comment as the post was loading because I was unsure if it would get posted before the connection timed out.

How does one back up an entire forum? I’d be down. Would hate to lose this wealth of info.

Anyone can COPY the forum using software like httrack, which I've been encouraging people to do. This will save the information but not functionality. But saving the info is most important.
But the forum has to be functioning to copy it, and it isn't functioning. You might be able to grab bits of it, starting with the 3rd gen forum of course.
Anyone who believes that admin is working on the problem is delusional. They haven't even logged in since the 14th.

Yeah, that's all I really want to do. Just copy this whole forum and put onto an external hard drive so that at least the information is all preserved.

This site has been completely offline and unreachable the better part of last weekend according to a few up/down monitoring sites. I suspect the recent server platform changeover didn't go as planned and the owners are not paying a hosting service at a level that includes support and they are in full DIY mode. On the other hand, life changes and maybe the brains behind the site have simply moved on or (choose any of 1000 scenarios) left the chat so to speak. this site had a long run and while I hope this isn't the end, it's hard to have any faith when there is little to no communication from ownership.

You could also see if The Internet Archive has saved what you're looking for too as they crawl around and save things.

Lol went to internet archive and it was faster than loading this forum. Unfortunately individual threads are not saved on there though.
Looked on vBulletins website. Apparently they're on version 6 now vs. 3 which this forum runs on. Cost $180 to upgrade. I know I'd be happy to help pitch in to save the info on here.

Figured I'd tag you
@ admin
And Mods who may be able to contact
@ admin
or someone who can help? I know we all would really appreciate some communication of what is going on.
Myself, and others would be willing to contribute toward paying for a software upgrade to make the forum accessible. As it stands it takes me 2 minutes to load a page if it loads.

admin has posted that we are under DDOS attack in the thread titled "wow the forum is super quick now"
As if that's where people are going to look for such announcements.
It boggles the mind.
