any reliable oem "kit" sellers?
If i ever finish my clutch job I'm facing timing belt and valve cover gasket jobs.
There are many people selling "kits" for these jobs, some of which purport to be OEM and some of which are obviously not. Are there any that you know from experience are reliable OEM kit sellers? I do not want anything but OEM. And yes I know Toyota is the best place for OEM, but If I can get OEM for less from a reliable seller, obviously that would be my best option.

+1 on the OEM Aisin kits for the timing belt & water pump job. You'll get OEM parts at a fraction of dealer costs. It's a no-brainer.
VCG job I personally would just go to the dealer, which is what I did years ago when a buddy and I did mine. Not very familiar w/ the seller that
@ GhostRing
mentioned, but I'm sure he wouldn't steer you wrong either. If that seller sells an OEM kit for a better price, sure why not go for it!

+1, I've bought multiple kits from him (for my 5VZ, and a couple of 3.0 Camry/Highlander engines for my daughters) and they've always been real OEM, and priced very nicely too.

Can you add a little more detail to the topic title?
Suggest: Reliable timing-belt / valve-cover-gasket kits sellers? or such.
It would help later searches

BTW, I've done both. I just got kits from Rock Auto. I think the timing-belt kits were Gates (done it twice). Can't recall the valve-cover-gasket kit mfg.
Now, I'm absolutely certain name brand Toyota or OEM is better, but these have been working fine.

The title can't be edited, but my main interest with the question was identifying tested, verified sellers of REAL oem, and get steered away from sellers of counterfeit OEM parts. The prices on some of these kits seem too good to be true, which sets off my alarm bells. I tested one of them last winter who had a lot of valve cover/spark plug seal kits at a very good price. I ordered a less expensive item from the same seller, the plenum gasket, just to examine it for authenticity. I decided it was indeed OEM but now they've sold out of the valve cover/spark plug sets that I planned to get from them.

I have had good luck with an e bay seller "Toyolex"
Thay have both full OEM kits as wells as kits with mixed OEM and "Toyota suppliers" i.e. aisin water pump, Mitsuboshi belts, and Koyo bearings in non Toyota branded packaging. I have used one of each and both were excellent.

Additionally, another good resource to use is McGeorge Toyota parts online website. Not sure if any members here are also members on TacomaWorld, but Camelback Toyota used to give their members discounts on parts through their online inventory too.

McGeorge has recently been purchased/renamed to Ourisman Toyota of Richmond. If you search McGeorge you will be taken to the new site, at least for now. I have also used them in the past with good results. Have also used Lithia, Conicelli, and Longo. With all of them you have to watch shipping... Sometimes it's better to shop local and pay a bit more per part but pick up at the dealer and save the shipping. Kind of a case by case basis.

I also haven't used McGeorge since the change over so can't say if the service will be the same or not.
Additionally, I just re-read your original post and only now picked up on the VCG mention. I think I have all that stuff OEM in the garage but never got around to it and no longer have my 3rd gen. I am not actively selling it but if/when you get around to it, shoot me pm if interested and we might work something out.

And a funny self-own story. One time I was buying parts to do the TB/WP on my 99. And looking around on eBay found a complete kit that said 'All OEM parts'. Every part is OEM? And a gret price! Let's do this!!!
A week and a half later, the big box arrives, and I opened it up and... It was full of generic brand looking plain white boxes with black lettering that said 'OEM' on it. As in the 'brand name' was 'OEM'. The parts were all the worst knockoff chinesium junk crap. Lol, nice one, yo got me. I actually managed to get them to accept a return, so I was out shipping, in exchange for not leaving a review. Lol, shame on me.
Aircabinman kits on eBay are actually OEM and OEM supplier (the kits will tell you which parts are which, and they have some variations on the kits) parts.
