Sourcing Rear Wheel Bearings

Ok so I'm on a time crunch looking to source new wheel bearings by Thursday. I see a lot of recommendations for Koyo and Nachi but can't seem to find where to buy them as the Toyota PN gives me either Ebay sellers in Japan that I'm unsure of the reliability of and Amayama which is ideal but too slow. The other options the toyota PN gives are $80 a side which seems a bit high but ultimately worth it if I can't find an alternative. It just seems that the consensus is that using one of those brand bearings is a good way to save a chunk of money compared to the $80 per side from toyota OEM ones. Can anyone drop a link for the Koyo or other brand bearings if they know of it? I appreciate it.

I've so far found NSK ones at yotashop Rear Wheel Bearing - Toyota 4Runner, Pickup Truck, T100 & Tacoma OEM (1975-2001) 90363-40020 but am unsure what the consensus for them is.

There's also this Ebay seller which has them for a great price but that just makes me more skeptical TOYOTA Genuine 90363-40020 4Runner T100 Tacoma Pickup Rear Axle Shaft Bearing | eBay.

There's lots of bearing stores in Dallas.
If you give them the Koyo or Nachi number they can match them to other good quality bearings.
NSK, Timken, SKF are all good.

You can get koyo bearings from napa. I have the koyo box right here, the napa sticker says altrom 212 2453.

Go to the napa website put in your year 4runner and search rear wheel bearing, look for the one that says altrom. Look at the details and you will see it's koyo. I'd post a link but napa's site isnt working with my phone right now.

Napa is doing 20% off $125+ orders placed online, code NEWYEAR.

Keep an eye on the retaining rings. They are nachi brand but a couple of them had little scratches. Make sure you get at least two without scratches for where the seals ride. Or get your retainers from Toyota

Good to know, I'll make sure to have some toyota ones I can use in case these ones are scratched.

Did you end up using the NAPA bearings? How did the project turn out? I'm getting ready to do mine and am also skeptical about sourcing OEM bearings from ebay.

Timken is a supplier for Toyota. I wouldn't be afraid to use them.

Buy OEM if you plan to keep the 4runner for 10+ years.

I believe OE for 96-00 is Koyo, and 01-02 is Nachi. You can buy either off Partsouq for much less without the red box. I think Tacomas may have used Timken for the rear, and I'm 100% sure the 8.4 inch with rear discs in a Sequoia uses a Timken as well. I wouldn't hesitate to use them. They are also OE for the 95-97 FZJ80.

Yes, my research shows that OEM for the the 2000 3rd Gen is Koyo. Thanks for the tip about Partsouq. With shipping they come out to the same price as Amazon roughly $80 a bearing. The ebay stores are selling them for about $50 shipped from Japan. I was hoping to save some money without compromising quality i.e. I only want legit Koyo made for Toyota bearings.

I'll bring this story about rear bearings.
I installed OEM toyota axle bearing into our Hilux pickup while another was installing Koyo bearings to his Toyota Hiace.
Out the box, OEM had a very very tiny play! while the Koyo was damn good! I checked both at the shop.

The shop guy told me wait until we install it into the axle shaft..

After the install: the OEM toyota bearing has no play! and I was able to spin the backing plate with nearly no force, while the Hiace bearing is now tight and had to use some force to spin the backing plate. the shop guy said the Hiace will need another bearing in the near future.

Since this day I always stay with OEM and the big price difference tells it all.
