Question Rear window defrost not working

Hi all. Searched through bunch of similar threads but found no solution.

Both tabs on my rear window defogger were broken off. Glued them with Permatex defogger repair kit. Now I got continuity between both tabs and also got 12V between them when connectors attached and defrost is on. But the grid still not gets warm, not any single line. Any ideas where to look for problem ?

Lift the gate up and check underneath the rubber boot at the top of the door. The wires in there have a tendency to sever from repeated opening and closing. That is my only thought on the matter.

As I've stated in the first post it does have current at the tabs when I turn defrost on. So broken wires couldn't be the problem

You may be confusing available voltage with current.
Its seems you have power but no ground thus no current.

I'm not a pro electic, just basic knowledge with multimeter, so can you elaborate bit more, what should I look for ?
With my understanding - push defrost button - got 12v between two tabs of the defroster. Turn the button off - got nothing between the tabs. It tells me that power goes at least untill the tabs. Power at tabs = defroster should work.
Or am I missing something ?

Talking about these tabs. They are glued and fixed now
These two wires shoud be positive and negative, right ? If one of them is broken, multimeter should not show any voltage between them, when switch is on
