What did I do now?? No start HELP (SOLVED)

So truck has been running fine. I was trying to tighten the power steering belt due to a squeak.

Since I was working on the truck I decided to put on a new replacement air hose. It’s the large hose(very small section held by 2 clamps at each end) that goes from the throttle body to the air intake silencer.

I had used duct tape around the end that went to the air intake silencer since there was a leak. That short term solution had been working for a few years.

I did disconnect the air filter box to give me more room to access the power steering belt adjuster. And I did disconnect a few vacuum lines and unplugged an electrical connection to lift the air filter box up.

Now the truck won’t start. Started fine before I touched anything today. I get a P1300 code now.

Any help would be appreciated.

You didn't post what year or engine but maybe the following will help.

I found an old topic on Tacoma World on a Tacoma that had the same code, he found a bad ground wire connection to the igniter, you may have accidentally pull the ground wire and it lost connection.

1999 Prerunner 2.7L no start P1300 SOLVED | Tacoma World

I'd double check that you got everything reconnected correctly. By any chance did you unplug the ignitor? Sometimes these plugs can be a pain to plug back in.

That electrical connector was likely for the air flow sensor. That may be your problem.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Sorry was getting dark and on a family trip.

I’ll recheck connectors again when I’m back. I’m hoping I just didn’t reconnect that one plug I removed well enough.

Will keep you posted.

So I got back today and check all the wires and they seemed fine.

So truck was running fine before I touched the ISR to change that small piece. The reason I changed it was I believe there was a vacuum leak so I duct taped that piece bc the car wouldn’t start. Similar to what’s happening now.

The only other part I touched was tightening the power steering belt which I don’t think affected anything.

And lastly the accelerator seems to be on the floor. Not sure if it’s something that affects this no start issue.

Thanks again!!!

If the throttle is held full-open, it is a 'clear-flood' mode for the ECU. It won't start with the pedal all the way down (really, the throttle body open all the way). Make sure the throttle moves freely by hand in the engine bay...

Here are some pics I took. Just curious if anyone sees anything.

My next step is to take out the air box and intake resonator and try and retrace my steps.

So started taking everything apart last night in the freezing cold and looked the wire connections. The MAF connector looked fine then I worked my way down to the ignition module. I started tugging on the plugs with wires and the brown one on the end just came out. I guess I tugged on the air filter box a little too much causing this. See pic below.

I pushed the brown wire in, and she fired up. So still need a permanent fix and ordered a new replacement wire. Will have to take the connector apart and push the old one out.

Thanks again for everyone's help!

That's great you found the problem, I suspected you pulled on a wire a bit too hard during your work, that brown wire is most likely the ground wire for the igniter thus causing P1300 code as mentioned in the link I posted.

New igniter connectors and pigtails are available from various vendors if those parts are damaged.

Good luck!
