not a TOTAL loss

Here is an update for you guys. I spoke with the insurance company yesterday. they said the have written the vehicle off as a Total Loss. Another plus, I can be re-embursed for up to $1000 in aftermarket parts. IE: brushgaurd/ wheels. I am waiting for the claims adjuster to phone be with the details.

On the other hand.... I spoke with my father last night and he is trying to sell is 4runner. It is a 99 limited with 130k, all service records, 1 owner (prior to my father), 4x4, TRD exhaust, and best of all.... ITS SUPERCHARGED!!!!!

I will then put the 17" limited wheels on and install my sound system in it. It has a brushgaurd that needs refinishing. Eventually I will install some beefy A/T tires and a small lift (1"-3") as I will now have a 4x4. I'm not WILD about the color, but It has definitely grown on me. Its the two tone green and gold. The only downside to me is that the car has spent the majority of its life in Michigan. So has some surface rust due to the salty winter roads. The car is immaculate otherwise.

Any input on bringing a northern car down to FL would be great.

NOW......
What would the most ideal lift be for 1"-3" of lift with keeping the stock ride or even making it more comfortable. This 4x4 stuff is all new to me

What are some other goodies I can add to this new runner? Mainly looking for things that will prolong the life of the engine. Its my understanding that a S/C'ed engine is not going to last as long as one that is N/A. There is no 7th injector, and I don't really want to add one, as I would rather by a boat. I want mods that will help things run longer, and if they add performance, thats good too. Thanks guys, you are always so helpful.

As I said in your other thread, I'd sell the 17's and keep those 16's. If not, sell them to me!

Anyway, there are no mods that you can do that will prolong the life of your engine. Even if it's supercharged, it can last quite a while. My old 98 4Runner was supercharged and still ran like a top at 140k. You just need to keep up on PM (preventative maintenance) and keep an eye on things, and it should last you quite a while.

And remember, my 4Runner required premium fuel for the supercharger (the one downside of owning the S/C), so be sure to put that in. I still got great gas mileage at 20mpg on stock tires.

I'd look into the URD kit or the 7th injector kit if you want to prolong the life of your engine. The factory setup with a S/C isn't the greatest and will wear your engine out quicker than one setup properly with these kits available. I can't be of too much help here because I don't have a S/C myself but I've read enough to know atleast this much. Your going to love the 4x4. If it has a rear locker then look into the blue/red wire mod or "grey wire" mod. It'll let you lock the diff while in 2WD and have some fun .
