Suspention

I just bought 4 new shocks off shox.com. The are the tokico factory replacement, i believe? I am thinking about upgrading my springs as well and wouldn't mind gaining a few inches, wouldn't we all

anyways, what would you suggest? 2.5 inches max as I don't need new tires at the moment. Open to all suggestions. What is the Best option? what is the most Cost effective option?

for some reason i thought they were cheaper. I can get OME springs for around the same price.

looking at the OME886 and OME 896.

Will these work with the stock tocikos?
why on rocky road outfitters does it say 2"-2.5" lift? Going this route, do I need anything else?

can i swap the coils and shocks and be done?

not familiar with those springs

fronts are typically 880s, 881s or if really loaded up front the 882s or 883s.

rears are 890 most often, some of us run 891s.

I am not conversant with those springs-are you sure those are for Runners or (battle) Cruisers?

yea PP makes +1 coils for 4runners and probably other cars since they have a drop down menu to pick you car.

as far as it saying 2-2.5 inches of list it just depends on the 4runner. most of you guys will only get 2 inches of lift, i on the other hand with having an 01 model which has some of the lowest springs and being 2WD i might see more of a 2.5 inch lift instead of just 2.

i am about to order the OME 881s and 890s. do you think the 5mm coil spacer is needed? why would i need this spacer?
I've paired the OME's with the trekmasters.

also, anyone know where they are cheaper than Rock Road Outfitters?

Try Toyota Parts of Dallas

trdparts4u.com

Excellent prices and service. Jerone or Jacques.

I would avoid spacers altogether but I take my ride off road. If you are a street truck only spacers will probably work fine for you.

I believe most folks use spacers to adjust "rake"-to level the front to match the lift at the rear.

I like the stink bug look myself.

The OME trim packers/coil spacers are meant to be used to correct height differences from left to right. So if the drivers side settles less than the passenger side does the car will be leaning to the passenger side. Throw in a packer and problem solved. There is an amount of variability in spring height and ride height with the 4Runner since the vehicle is not symmetrically weighted. The fuel tank is on the drivers side so as a result, the drivers side springs are always a little taller than the passenger side to cope.
Many people simply use them to maximize their amount of lift, or level things out like Ron said. It comes down to personal preference and individual needs.

It is $5 or $10 but you can have it if they will let you. I am giving you permission to use it, you have helped me out before.

the lift will be installed tomorrow.
pics to follow.

I have been looking for rims are tires. I was thinking 18 or 20 inch on some 33's. A buddy has some 24's that he might be trying to get rid of. and I can get them cheap. They are in good condition and tires have about 60% of tread left. I can prolly pic them up for $600. I might go this route for now.
After much thought, I know my runner is 4wd but I really don't go off road ever. mainly a street queen.

Are there any concerns besides braking that I should worry about? I plan to upgrade the brakes either way. Do you guys think this I would be a likely candidate for the tundra upgrade? If so what are the part numbers I need for the upgrade?
Should I be concerned because I am not doing a diff drop or panhard drop?

Thanks fellas, you are always much help

the lift is on
I thought I would get closer to 3"s but, its about 2"+ all four corners. The biggest difference is the handling. Holy Crap. my runner felt like a hoop-d-ride before with those old shocks. I can't wait to hook the boat up after work and see how it does.

Pics should be up tomorrow
