high speed steering vibration

I have a 1997 4runner, 2.7 ltr with 210k miles. Whenever I am on the highway i get some front-end vibration. It is not so severe that I would consider my vehicle unsafe on the highway, but it is severe enough. It vibrates the entire front end. I replaced all 4 tires with michelins, got the front-end aligned, replaced the brakes and rotors, and I rotate my tires regularly. Does anyone have any ideas about this? Could it just need new struts?? PLEASE HELP!

Dood, this same question burned in my head all last year. Until.. I replaced the transmission mount- blammo! No more highway vibrations! Check it at least- unless it's already been done on your ride, I'd say definitely replace it. If you've had your wheels balanced and rotated- and got a worthwhile alignment, i would DEFINITELY start with the tranny mount.

Good luck!

I know that this is not your problem, but incase anyone viewing this thred has had a problem with steering wheel vibrations while braking from high speeds a simple tire rotation fixed the problem for me.

could be tie rod ends

But your alignment guy should have noticed....

tire rotation, balance all could help....
