time for maintenance? and suspension question
I have put 20K miles on my 4r in the last 16 months and it has been flawless. Now that I got rid of my other car it will be seeing over 20K a year. I just changed the plugs and it was actually a lot easier than the camry I had. I changed the front brakes and a couple burned out lights and that has been it (knock on wood).
I've been meaning to change the water pump and probably the timing belt as well then. Where is a good place to get these items? I would guess that genuine toyota parts would be the best bet as well?
I would also like to change the suspension as well. It is a bit too soft for me and dives way too much when braking. any recommendations for a street setup? I live in IL so I don't have much chance to see anything other than snow and asphalt....and construction sites! I was driving an srt8 magnum until several months ago, so this vehicle feels like it's gonna tip over in comparison.
it is my understanding that 01s were lowered a bit compared to 99s. is there any way to get my inch back without changing springs? would just changing shocks be my best bet to at least get some handling back? Do they make larger way bars?
The pricing on new chevy and ford trucks is way too enticing... but this vehicle has been bullet proof and i hate to take a chance on a gm/ford vehicle, plus the extra payment makes it not worth while. might as well throw a couple bucks into the 4r to make me happy with it.
