Paid $6400 two years ago for my 97 SR5 with 98,000 miles. Bought it from a dealership (talked them down from ($11,000) with a salvage title, however the car is mint with nothing wrong, I had the dealership give me a full certification so I could get full coverage insurance. I guess the top had been crushed from a tree or something so it got a new top and paint job. I put about $2000 into it with new T-Belt/water pump, suspension lift/wheels, alternator, belts, sway end links, wires/plugs/fuel filter and sound system. Keep thinking about selling for a tacoma but I'm gonna try to run this thing forever.

Got mine last Feb for $8500 I think. Had 189,000 on it. Clean except for a few clearcoat spots on the hood, and the "wood" trim was starting to lift a little from the hot Texas heat. Just "need" a rear locker and a lift. She offroads just fine stock, though.

Just got (this week!) an '01 SR5 4WD with 150k on the clock, it runs great, natty white with oak interior, all the options ( I think) minus the sunroof and leather. It's in great 'southern' condition, only cosmetic problem is a crack in the windshield... paid $7000 for it.

This is the first time I ever saw my 4Runner. It wasn't mine quite yet (about an hour later it was), and as you can see, it was absolutely base in every way. No roof rack, fender trim, jacked up plate, bent antenna, neglected bumpers, cracked exhaust manifold, etc. It was a teenage girls (smoker) daily driver for 8 years. I won't even get into the makeup smeared into the steering wheel and dashboard... and all of the missing parts for the interior i had to find... Paid $5500.
It's been almost a year, here it is now.
Most noticable mods are the OEM roof rack, air deflector, SR5 trim, wheels, tires, antenna, and bumper plastic/license plates. I also replaced everything that was missing, cleaned it thoroughly, added LCE headers, and much more.
I've put maybe 2-3 grand into it.

Just picked up my '00 SR5 Sport/Highlander today, 161k on it. Paid $6800. Mechanically it is in near-perfect condition. The interior has a few small flaws but nothing huge. I think I got a good deal

1997 SR5 4x4 5 speed 3.4L 264,000 miles $2000
it was in 7/10 condition on the exterior (pretty decent for the mileage) The interior is a 9/10, the only flaw was the shift knob worn out and the driver side floor mat worn out (both easily replaced)
Searching for a sr5 with the 5speed v6 was difficult and I jumped on this one, I really wasn't ready to buy a 4runner yet (I figured I needed to save a few more grand) but I saw this while searching CL and dreaming. The only thing I wish it had is a rear locker, but I told myself I prefer a sunroof over a locker because I can always add a rear locker.
