It’s got a semi-bunk trans. Input shaft bearing is noisy and 4th gear syncro went on vacation.
Kind of a weird truck. SR5, no fender flares, no running boards, manual trans, leather interior. Hmph.....

Someone removed the running boards, hence the lack of front mud flaps. The chrome strips are standard with the 265 tires. Trucks like this seem to be a common spec in states like AZ, NM, and Socal.

Bought this stock 98 sr5 4wd for $1800 with 123k miles. It needed a new frame. Got a frame swapped for $250 plus a week off work.

I just got this ‘02 last weekend for $4,995. SR5 with 173k miles. Mostly a northeastern truck, but spent some time in Florida. Super clean! Someone offered the dealer $6,500 but I already had a signed purchase and sale agreement. Imgur: The magic of the Internet

1999 limited 2k missing front bumper. 250k miles. July 4th 2017 just had new brakes and timing belt. Ran like crap. interior was trashed. $5 can of MAF cleaner and it runs like a champ.
With new tires bilistiens and brakes put about 1000 in it.
found a rolled 98 with a good interior paid 750 with tow to my place. got it home and the engine cranked. Sold the engine and tires for 600. replaced interior. couple friends have gotten parts. great deal for 150.
total investment probably 3.5k and a load of hours.

Congrats and very nice. Also FIFY.
Rust is a 4 letter word in AZ, but at that price, you'll have miles of smiles and years of use even if rust catches up to it eventually.

$3,500 Aussie dollars
350,000KM but runs well. Needs clearcoat on bonnet repairing, front bumper painting and front hub bearings swapping out, but thats cheap for one of these in Aus!

I traded a shotgun for this 96 with 311k miles on it with blown head gaskets so I bought a jdm 5vz for 1300 bucks. It’s got an e-locker too

I paid $6500 for mine last year - 2002 Limited with 190k, all stock. Great shape, with hardly any frame rust for this area. Came with extra tires and wheels which I unloaded for $400 too.
I knew at the time I overpaid a bit, but the frame was the cleanest I’d seen of the dozen or so I’d checked out so far. Plus the PO had taken great care of it and I felt confident about the truck. After spending more time on this forum, I’m realizing I overpaid a little more than a bit... But I’ve had very few issues over the past year, so I don’t feel too bad about that.
