I bought my 98 2WD from thee OG owner, last Dec. 115k with records & maintenance up to date, for 5300 in really good shape. Being in CA, I thought this was a smoking deal!!!!!
Had another lined up last week. 88K 4WD OG owner for 10K. But he would not give me the VIN. So I got leery, N decided to pass.
Pound for pound. I think I may be hard pressed to find a deal like the one I got last Dec. Which was my 1st 4runne. N now I am hooked!! N so is my pit, who is my co-pilot. This has to be one of thee best choices, in vehicles for dog owners!

1999 Limited, 205k miles, automatic, original radiator and LBJ, timing belt last done at 75k, 2 decent body dents, rear locker.
$2,500. Apparently that's a good deal these days.

Body and frame were decent. Needs brake and tires and probably a few other pieces. Interior is rough

Nice looking ride,
Much cleaner than mine and looks like much less surface rust than mine.
I suspect much less salt than we get up hear in the great white North.

I paid around $12,000 for my 4Runner back in early 2012. Its the Limited 4x4 with the Factory Sport Package included. It's the top of the line.

1996 4x4 5speed 234k miles with very little rust for 4,500. I love (and hate) how little these things have depreciated in the last 10 years.

2000 w rear locker, 230XXX on the clock, for $1k. Missing passenger half shaft, passenger rear brake leak, hood latch fubared, cracked instrument cluster lens, leaking valve covers, drivers window has issue with scissor bracket, needs paint, but most importantly to me besides the rear locker, no rust. Yeah it also needs driver's seat reupholstered along with console lid. Needs new bumper and lower bumper section.
