How much did you pay for your 3rd gen?
I saw a thread like this over at YT and figured it would be cool to start one here too. I did a search and it kept giving me an administrative error so here goes:
Here's the sticker for my 2002. I still have it in the leather case in the glove box
I think my parents dropped a bit more than $36k for it back in 2001

you will all cry after this one. i paid $900 yes nine hundred. it went up for aution where i work for a tow company. we did a police tow on it for being uninsured and reg. was expired. they didnt have the money to come and get it so it sat for awhile and did all the auction paperwork and i got it. i did all my own work on it to clean it up. with lift, tires and new bumpers i have $3000 in to it. by the way its a 2000 sr5 with auto and sunroof.

$5,500 out the door! (I hate when people say that lol)
See this is the reason why I am never buying a brand new vehicle.
36k ---> 5.5K
thats just crazy.
edit #3: 16 city, 19 highway?
I could have sworn I get way more than 19 on the highway. I drive 60mph while on the highway and I think I get more like 22+.

Yeah, the mileage throws me off too. If I'm easy with the throttle I can see 20 maybe 21MPG on the highway. Also, older 3rd gen's are quoted getting better mileage than the ones towards the end of the generation for some reason. JA's site has all that info

Got mine in 2005 for $9899 with 113,000 on the clock. Have 189,000 now and its still like a new car.
And I completely agree with Hulk. I have NEVER owned a car with less than 100,000 miles on it. In fact this was my newest car at 5 years old. My previous newest was 17 years old.
So many people are afraid to own a car without a warrenty that you can pick them up cheap after just a few years. A little bit of maintenance knowledge and elbow grease will save you tens of thousands of dollars on vehicles.

Bought my 98 in July when I got back from Afghanistan for $6200 with 150,000 now at 172,000 and not worried one bit, and yes it wheels great stock but of course can never leave well enough alone. Soon to have lift and locker.

Bought my first one last week for 5K.....had 144K on it.
97' sr5 4x4 black auto w/ e locker tan cloth int.
Interior is barely even worn the only problem I've found is a broken air vent on the center dash above the radio. And the light
that comes on when you open the back hatch doesn't come on when you open the back hatch. That said does anyone know where that switch is (that makes the light come on). I'm pretty sure its just a short in that switch, but I couldn't locate it.
Exterior is clean, not even that many scratches for a 4wd. Only flaw is a quarter size dent in the front bumper.
Having the front windows tinted this week to match the back ones.

I got my 98 last week with 196K mi for Free. It has dents, scratches and the interior needs some love. It's better that it starts out this way....so that it wont hurt so bad after I put on a few more dents and scratches.
The original window sticker was in the glove box and it was listed at $28K.

Just got my 1999 Limited w/ 131K for $8300. The original used price (when the dealer first put it on the lot) was $12,990!! I don't know what they were smoking...but I feel like I got a decent deal at $8300.
