Sorta related

Saw the pictures of the airflow sensor with the stripped screws. I posted a replacement part number a few years ago but found it again. I had the same issue and used a dremel to notch the screw and get it out. I then found the best replacement at Home Depot Part number 30699-82558 which is a 4mmx10mm cap screw with socket head. The socket head allows you to use an Allen wrench in the future and eliminates stripping. I love Toyota but they probably saved five cents with the soft screws they used on this sensor.

Yes, turned out to be the ECM. During car washes (the touch-free kind with the high-pressure water), the seal around the windshield would leak right at the bottom. Water then traveled down the defrost vent and dripped directly on to the ECM and main harness. Not cool!

I bought a used ECM on ebay for $150, then had a mobile locksmith come out to flash the ECM so I could program my transponder keys to it. Worked great!

The only code I was getting was a P0100, which is kind of a generic MAF code. But, my MAF was just fine.

Good luck!

Mine has been doing the same thing, I've replaced head gasket valves, spark plugs, ignition coils, and checked all vacuum lines. Here's a link to it so you can hear what it sounds like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCX9EOaNTyE

Was it doing that before you did all that repair work?
