Question Replacing the Back Bench Seats with Bucket Seats.

Hi. New Guy here,
Has any one on here replaced the rear bench seats with after maket bucket seats? If so did you have a custom made seat bracket made and where was it made?

second row?

do you have a runner with a 3rd row?

My 2nd row is buckets...? Each seat has it's own seat and back...

I don't quite get the question

No, not mine, I found it on photobucket.
I was wondering the same thing, it's from a tacoma and looks like you have to use both fenders, hood, and grille.

No my 4runner is a 3rd generation no 3rd row seat. I want to replace the back bench seat with bucket seats and was wondering if anyone has done this and if so how hard it is to do. The 4runner pic 2 or 3 post above is what im talking about.

to me, it looks like pre-runner style, meaning fiberglass fenders and hood. and i guess the hood only lined up with tacoma front clip. just thinking thats what they did. original thats for sure.

Back from the dead bump. Better to revive than to ask the same damn question again.

I found an answer but not on t4r.org. There's a build thread of a chop top 3rd gen over on TTORA where he mentions WRX seats for the rear but definitely installs other racing seats instead.

Chopped top - TTORA Forum

One of my ideas (and it might just be stupid) is to look at minivan seats as they fold down to the front to allow you to use the expanded cargo area idea rather than having a measly 32" (give or take) for cargo.

Anyone care to chime in on this? I do not own a minivan and haven't ridden in one recently so I know little of the height of those seats or how tall the seats are etc. The idea just occurred to me.

The idea is awesome. This is a mod I really want! However even taking seats from a minivan or similar, I believe they wouldn't lay close to flat and your cargo space is still prohibited to the 32"-33" anyways.

me too

I was thinking about rear buckets too. I don't lay flat too often so that's no biggie, but buckets might make for more space in the back for the kids...
