Would you trade your 4runner for a newer 2wd model ?
I may have the chance to trade my 01 4runner for an 02 4runner. The only downside is his is a 2wd model. Has pretty much the same amount of miles. HIs has 20 inch rims and its a v6. I dont use 4wd to much but its nice to have but his is the 4th gen so im kinda torn.

'02s are still 3rd gens. But if it's a 4th gen it might be worth it.

Ehh, you might be gaining a few dollars, but it wouldn't be too much I don't think.
I honestly like the 3rd Gen in many ways more than the 4th Gen.

Gotta agree. I love the 3rd gen and my runner especially and wouldn't trade it in for 4th gen ever.

While the 4th gen's are nice, the 3rd gen's just look BA. My mom has a '06 Limited and she is always asking to drive my '02.

I wouldn't trade, but to be honest...the 4th generations drive much better. I drove my dads 03 yesterday after driving mine for several months and I forgot how nice it drove, it does feel like your driving a semi-truck though! But, in the looks department, the 3rd gen takes the cake hands down.

Your gonna hear this a lot on this side of the forum opposed to the 4th gen side, lol but the 3rd gens look a lot better than the 4ths. Plus the 4x4 will be easier to sell than the 2x4. And your truck is sick so you should keep it.
PS: not to long ago you started a thread about selling your rig and getting a buru STI, lol, c'mon man don't you love your runner????jk lol

No you shouldn't change it. The 4th gen might ride smoother, but I think that the 3rd gen is a better quality vehicle in general. If you compare the interior materials you will see what I mean.
Also, I don't understand the purpose of a 2WD 4Runner. What's the point of getting a vehicle with a high center of gravity, high step-in height (for ground clearance), and generally rougher ride if you are only going to have 2WD?
