Question Radiator Replacement how-to

I am looking to see if anyone has a link or knows of a previous post anywhere on a "how-to" radiator replacement for a 96-02 4Runner?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Radiator Replacement how-to

i can't help you out w/ a link, but its pretty straight forward remove and replace procedure.

on second thought .. try the autozone site you have to create an account now, but they do have this basic stuff in the repair manuals online.

thanks! i'll check it out.

My radiator busted last night. I knew there was a leak in it a couple months ago and put some stop quick to seal it...Now I am just hoping it is all that was wrong (the leak in the radiator). I just had the head gasket job done a few months ago, new hoses, new clamps, etc...Hopefully this will remedy the situation and i can move on.

This is straight out of the FSM. Very easy.

1. Drain the engine coolant.
2. Remove the grille. (there are 7 clips)
3. Disconnect the upper radiator hose.
4. Disconnect the radiator reservoir hose.
5. Disconnect the lower radiator hose.
6. Remove the no.2 fan shroud. (thats the bottom piece)
7. If you have an A/T, disconnect the oil cooler hoses.
8. Remove the radiator. (4 bolts)
