my green 2000 4runner debacle 81K, back on the market and new 4runner for me

been seeing all of the threads about people looking for a good 3rd gen, well the green one i almost just picked up is going back on the market today as it was a kind of weird situation, i'll try and explain,

My parents are renting a house out to some people who are running a rather large car lot and i also happened to be in the market for a new suv, so they told me to come on down and we'd sort something out, so i went down there and found this 2000 3rd gen with the rr diff lock and at the time 79K on it, it had just been traded in by some old lady for a sequia and they hadn't even completed the paper work on it yet, so we sat down and hashed out the details and it was pretty much a deal they just needed to wait for the title trasfer and the other paperwork to go through in the meantime they said i could have the truck and drive it around and they would call me when the paperwork was ready, so 2 weeks went by and i stopped by there yesterday thinking everything was in order and i just had to sign and leave. not the case the numbers had changed, it would seem i have what they call "young credit" and wanted to charge me 20% interest on the truck , well needless to say i'm not stupid and can find other ways to build my credit that's not at a 4K expense. so seeing all of this happen my parents decided to take advantage of the cash for clunkers deal using my old jeep, they figured they can get 8.5-9K from my jeep as a trade in with the cash for clunkers program, so the deal is i'll pay them 1.5K and my jeep for their 1999 4runner,
it has 183K on it but they were the og owners and it's never been off road and very well maintained even though i do have some work to do on it. though timing belt, something about a fly wheel needs replaced and a problem with the brakes. after it's all said and done i should be into this thing about 4.5K, 1.5K cash, maybe 2-3K for my jeep (real world value) and about 1K to fix problems mentioned above.

so here's the pics, also if your interested in the green one i'm taking it back at some point today if one of you guys out there looking wants to rob it let me know and i'll pm you when i'm taking it back exactly.

old one

new to me one!!!!!

Is the old Jeep in your name? Your parents will not be able to trade it in under the C for C program if the vehicle has not been in their name for 12 months.

i thought i heard 2 years on that program ... didn't pay much attention since i would rather crush a new toyota and save a classic GOOD toyota product! lol

and i agree i like the silver better! of course i am also a bit biased to the MSM color.

Ditto...I think that the silver 99 looks much better than the green one. My buddy has one almost exactly like your 99, but without the rack.

hahah thanks guys i know i'm a little happier, my way of thinking is that even with the extra 100K on it with the money i saved i can do a v8 swap later in life when/if the stock engine dies, and personally i like the color a little better as well it just looks cooler somehow plus from my research the '99's sit about 1 inch higher than any other year which kind of puts me ahead of the game imo.

so you guys really like these rims more than the later 4runners? like the ones i had on the green one? meh either way they're going to be black soon!
