I know this is a newb question, but hey I am, does it seem raised to you? Or is it just the fact that the running boards have been removed and there are bigger tires?
I've noticed driving next to other T4R's how much higher mine is.
Just curious.

the 99s have taller shocks/springs from the factory. and yes, when the running boards are removed, it gives the image of being lifted, lol..
BTW, thats whats my 99 looked like when I got her, she was so clean and un-molested, lol heres a write-up http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/bl...oyota-4runner/ I miss her

For me, your runner would be my idea of the perfect trail rig. 99+imperial jade+highlander+5speed=perfect! It's very clean too!

I think somebody downgraded the wheels to the lesser SR5 wheels since the Highlanders had the Limited wheels in the package. Still got yourself as nice 4runner and it's looks in awesome condition.

You would make it to pretty and not want to wheel it.
Great find on the Runner and I do have e-locker( easy button) envy.

I find that very disrespectful.
the only reason I've done so with mine is because its practically useless... as much as i'd love to wheel, 4 cylinder 2wd is not a good combo. its near impossible trying to find stuff that's not optimized for a v6 or different gearing. I've taken mine offroad, and it is a capable truck. I want the rest that is to be had, though.
I've been trying to find a new 4Runner to do exactly that, wheel it.
I noticed you said that same phrase behind my back at the meet we attended, "He looks like he wants his 4Runner to look pretty," I didn't think much of it. Why such disrespect? I complimented you many a time about yours, Mike. I asked you a lot of questions about those coilovers and the FJ80 coils you had, because I wanted to lift mine, I wanted to have offroad capability, I wanted this, I wanted that. I even bought your old bumper since mine was jacked.
You told me yourself, get a rear locker. You were helping me in my direction.
Now you're being disrespectful so much to the point where you'd say that I'd make it strictly pretty? What am I, a little girl? Simply the stuff I've done to my 4Runner were mainly things I could do on a college student/part time workers budget. I haven't done anything in a while strictly because I've been attempting to save for a newer, more capable rig.
Frankly, I've never seen such a turn around in attitude from anyone on this forum. I'd have expected something like this from Matt Star, who might I add was a great part of this forum, but not from you. To be honest, I thought you were one of the people I could at least have considered more of an acquaintance than anything.
So please, I know you're much older than I am, but I say this with the most respect I have. Don't tell me what I am going to do with my cars. I do what I can. I don't have money for lifts, huge tires, engine swaps, diff swaps, anything, so at least this would be the first step until I could afford such. Buying a 4Runner that is as nice as this (congrats Shoke, nice find) would definitely be a much wiser starting point than a 3RZ base truck that some idiot smoker used to drive to work everyday.
I respect you, Mike, but really, your reply was deeply uncalled for. I was aiming for a little humor with my posts earlier.
I, like most all of us on this forum, aim for a little form with our function.

wooow... I personally didnt see any comments as Disrespectful, I personally like when people say "thats to pretty to wheel" then they see where I take it, what it can do, what I can do, they ussually shut up, lol.
Theres NOTHING wrong with making your rig "pretty" or having the bling thing going on, theres a couple rigs on here that are so called mall crawlers, vehicles that will never see a trail, but THEY LOOK GREAT, they just aint into wheeling, nothing wrong with that.
I hope no one meant any disrespect, this IMHO is a great forum

I guess I saw it more as, "You're a stupid kid who doesn't know anything, please quit driving such an SUV because you're not good enough. Obviously, my car is better than yours."
I guess I can't really say that's what it was, but I don't know, just in a bad mood today.
I was deeply offended because I do take mine offroad frequently, and take my truck to the limit, but obviously I can't take it nearly as far as Mike can, so I felt like I was being picked on since I wasn't fortunate enough to get a nicer 4Runner.
Little things here and there, aesthetic things, don't reduce my car's performance off road. I think it would be a useless investment to try to make it as offroad worthy as the next one, because simple lack of 4WD, low end torque, and maybe even a locker make mine useless beyond certain types of terrain, no matter what I've done.
I love the thing, but I want the more that is to be had.
It could be the fact that I really never post anything related to offroad. It's a pet peeve of mine when people judge you so quickly and so ignorantly. If I had the options that a wonderful machines like Shoke's has, who wouldn't wheel it? I wouldn't be typing right now, I'd be hitting up the trail!
Just take a look here... it's nothing much at all, but at least, AT LEAST, the actual thing knows damn well what dirt is. And yes, me and my friends like to be silly and do donuts, why? because it's fun.
Theres a vid or two of my buddy Aaron (blonde guy) driving it because he'd never been offroading and I figured I'd let him roam free. He could have taken it much further but it was his first time, and I don't even have a video of me doing stuff.
I'm not trying to prove myself, just showing that I don't own a "mall crawler"
