Cargo area LEDs

I was bored and wanted to replace all the dome bulbs with LED bulbs so I went up to Advanced Auto Parts and looked for bulbs but no luck. So then I found a pair of LED "driving lights" that were supposed to mount to the bumper and are only for "off-road use or show." I tested them and they weren't really that bright so I knew they would be perfect for the cargo area. It came with all the wiring and instructions and a switch. I had to buy more wire because I was putting them in the cargo area rather than up in the front near the engine and battery.

So I marked up some spots for the holes to mount the lights and then a hole for the wires to go into. I also dremeled out a little spot for the light switch to go into. Had to use a glue gun to get it to stay because super glue and Goop didn't work. I attached the power cable directly to the battery so the lights can run without the car on. Might be adding another fluorescent type light or LED to the top of the cargo area later.

I rather place them in the headliner so they are shining down, seems like they blind you as much as provide light. OEM light works fine imo, my friend has two 30'' strips of high quality led's alone the rear sides of the headliner that are pretty cool.

those led strips sound pretty cool. in person, the LEDs in my trunk aren't that bright, the camera just makes them seem brighter than they really are. it also provides a nice ambient light for when i don't want the halogen bulb light on perhaps if im just chillin in the back or something

You really should mount them flush inside the trim since that does look a little chintzy and very rushed. Just my .02
