Could be that your throttle body got stuck closed for a second, happend on my Fiance's 01 Camry. If it happens again what I did is remove the air intake hose, spray some carb cleaner on it and move it around a little.

I had mine stall once a few months back..I was sitting in a parking stall at the store with the a/c cranked for about 10-15 mins. Went to back up and it just stalled. Started it back up and has never happened again. So, I dunno..take this for whatever it worth.

well, there is afew different things it could be. TPS sensor (throtle position sensor) or IAC sensor (idle air control) Dirty maf sensor http://www.top4runners.com/ja/cleanmaf.html or your fuel filter is clogged. Im betting its one of these sensors. I had this happen a few years back in one of my jeeps and it was the IAC sensor..it would just stall for no apparent reason.

If it repeats in heavy rain, you should think about intake leak. I had this happen on a car fresh from the mechanic because he forgot to tighten the clamp from the airbox to the carb. Water in the intake is a good way to kill an engine (kill as in stop, not ruin--at least in small quantities.)
You can let things dry out and take a spray bottle and mist the air intake system from filter box on in with the engine running. If the motor coughs, there's your problem. If it doesn't, there are lot's of other suggestions.

I had a similar problem turns out it was a bad mass air flow sensor. yours may need to be cleaned or replaced if it turns out to be the source of the problem. I brought mine into the dealership and they hooked it up to get diagnosed readings were all over the place.
