96-98 headlights vs 99-02?

ok so i just put hids in my 98 and was wondering if they would look better with the 99-02 headlights? would they have a better cutoff or would it be about the same?...also i was wondering..my hids came with that metal shield on them and i was wondering if i would get better light output from them if i turned them to where the metal shield was on top or bottom??
thanks

Please take those HID's out of your halogen housing. Not only does it look totally crap, but it will blind the oncoming traffic. IF you want HID's, I suggest a proper retro-fit with Acura/BMW/MB/etc. housing.

Sorry, but they're gonna look like crap no matter what you do. OEM housings were never designed around the use of HIDs. The housings just cannot disperse the light output of HIDs properly. A retrofit is the only cure.

Not having enough money should not be an excuse...just b/c you don't have enough money for projectors, should mean you settle for plug-n-play kits. Just save up next time. I didn't buy a chevy aveo just b/c I couldn't afford a 4Runner. I saved up and bought a 4Runner instead.

Ok rant over...yes '99-'02 housings will slighlty increase your light output...HID or not. Their clear lenses are much better than the former frosted lenses. I'd dump those frosted lenses right away. HID or not.
