power seat and windows not working

Hi,

I'm new to the 4 runner forum. I've owned a FJ cruiser for a couple years, but had to sell, and I've always loved the look of the 3rd gen 4r's. Now I have one.

My power seats and windows don't work on my limited 97 4x4, I tried replacing the pink square 30 amp fuse under the dash and it fries it every time. Does this sound like a familiar problem?

I'd appreciate the help.

Ivan

Hi and welcome to the forum
Sorry you're having an issue already with your 'new' car. I'm no expert on electrical things but you clearly have a short in one of those two systems. The first thing I would do is try to find which one by disconnecting one completely. Start with the power seats, look for a connector on the wiring loom leading to the seat and disconnect it. Then see what a new fuse does. Does the fuse blow all by itself, or only when you try to use either the windows or the seat controls?

Oh, well, I'm still open to any suggestions.
