Weird loss of traction after ABS goes off

I have a 1997 4runner 5 speed 4wd. Today my wife drove my daughter to school and when she can back she said the truck was sliding all over the place and that she almost went off the road(There's snow on the roads right now). So I took it out for a drive...put it in 4 high and drove up a street with a decent incline...no problems...I come down the other side in 1st no problems. Finally there is one last turn(90 degrees) that is down a short hill. As I lightly tap the brakes the ABS goes off and the truck just starts sliding down the hill(drifting to the right). So I get it to stop and back up a little. When I go to drive off it does the same thing starts sliding off the road...almost like the right front tire is pulling and the rest are locked up...So I back up and drift down 3 times before I get to flat road. Even then going like 2 mph the truck is pulling funny and sliding all over the place. I know it's not my driving..I have a 1993 Landcruiser with the same exact tires that I drive to pick my daughter up 10 min.s later ...perfect traction on much worse hills.

Any ideas??

Update: I tested the truck out today.

At any rate, I drove it on our street again(flat)..this time just in 2h. I hit the brakes on a snowy patch to get the abs to go off. Sure enough same thing. When I got to a patch of dry road the truck wouldn't even move like it was bolted to the ground...you could see it(the whole truck) torque when I revved the rpm's. Put it in reverse and it goes back normal. Then back to 1st and it'll roll now, but still something fishy. Karen said when I turned into the drive way the back tires are locked up. Bizarre man! Strange thing is that up until this issue..it's driven thousands of miles no problems....

Ideas...I don't wanna kill myself driving this thing!

One or more of your brakes are locking up. Do you have a seized caliper? Parking brake frozen on? Jack the truck up and check how free the wheels spin by hand.
Good luck. Let us know.
