Whine noise ?? 3.4 V6

Just yesterday I started hearing a whine noise mostly when I come to a stop (idle) It sounds like a power steering pump when it is low on oil, but PS is full of oil and the sound doesn't change when steering wheel is turned, like a power steering whine would. Any known Whines on these trucks/ motors, ?

Is it your master cylinder? Trying starting your 4runner and leave it in park. Pump the brakes a few times and see if you hear the noise again. When I first got my 4Runner I heard it and it took me a while to figure out what it was.

Check your diff and t-case fluids - make sure they aren't low. Gears will whine if they aren't properly lubricated.

Look on top of the engine, there may be a metal part with the letters TRD on it. That could be causing your whine, and the best way to fix it is to remove it and ship it to me!

belts too tight? did the sound just start randomly or has it been doing it for some time?

I just recently have had the same thing happen to mine.

If it is the master cylinder, does that mean it's trying to die or sumptin??

Plan on foolin with it some this weekend.
