4 wheel parts wont install my lift!

so i have a 2000 4runner sport, i took my first lift off, which they installed, my second lift i sold, and i was gunna get a pricing for the ome 882 nitro struts.they were gunna charge me 450 for the lift and 200 for install, well they were gunna sell it to me, they wont install my lift, they said they dont want to install something dangerous on my car cause i havnt done my research, um i know what i want, i even told them i want a 1' diff drop,
are the 882s really bad for cv? ive never heard anything bad from anyone with the ome setup

yeah, if you told them you were doing LC coils in the back they wont talk to you.. I tried to buy an extended brake line from them (which I didnt end up needing cuz you can bend the bracket) which I knew they had from their website, they flat out wouldn't sell it to me. They asked me what Lift I had, I told them an LC coil in the back and (spacers for now, Toytec Coilovers) in the front and the guy literally made a scoffing sound... literally laughed at me and told me to go to some place and they would make me one!

They acted like they were all smart and know what they are doing but they dont know crap about 4runners cuz they dont see enough of them. the only suspension OME lift they sold was the 1.5/2 inch one... STUPID... I wont even take my 4runner back to them to rotate and balance the wheels

Oh, and they called me to say it would be done soon, so I went to pick it up and I sat there for 3 hours and then they came in and informed me they broke my Tie rod while putting it back together and charged me for it...

One cool guy gave me like 100$ off the K&N CAI after that though.

I'm surprised there isn't a "I hate 4wheel parts" thread around somewhere

With the 8 wrap coil you should probably do the Panhard, I have the 7 wrap and barely was able to get it lined up again without the panhard bracket... make sure you bend the bracket for the rear brake line down, you should have plenty of play then...

with the 1' diff drop you should be plenty fine with the OME coils,

just my humble opinion, there are plenty of more knowledgeable guys on here that can help too.

4WP blows. They did my gears and left all of my sway bar end links barely attached to the frame and when I got it back it drove me crazy for days trying to figure out what was rattling over every bump. Called them up and I took it back in (they couldn't get me in for a week) and of course they couldn't find anything wrong with it.

I went home and had a friend jump on my truck while I was under it and saw both the s.b. links in the front AND both in the back were almost falling off. All the threads were smashed on the bolts from sliding around and getting smacked and I had to force them back on w/ an impact. I'm sure I'll have to cut them of w/ a sawsall in the future. They did ok setting my gears up, but the re****s can't remember to do the easy stuff. They also forgot to do my lower ball joints which we had talked all about and never returned my calls. nt to mentioned it took and hour and a half to run my card and get my keys. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

BTW, the 883s would be better IMO. Your CV angle will be a little better than with the 882s and it's enough lift that I can still clear 285s w/o a body lift.

I agree with do not have 4WP do any labor for you. I have had to many problems with other vehicles and friends vehicles after having them do work. When they have sales not a bad place to to buy stuff though.

Yeah they have good deals sometimes and I have to admit, I'll buy from them again if they are the best price, but like Pikeman said, don't have them do any labor.

I wouldnt let a person from 4WP piss on any of my vehicles if they were on fire.

You should try this place:
Specialized 4WD Inc.

if you are in Sacramento try the Les Schwab in Elk Grove and ask for Dan... he is my best friend and was the Best Man in my wedding.

he has worked on several of my cars and all of his, and he has owned not one but 2-69 pontiac firebirds that both ran under 12's in the quarter mile, heres a pic of us working on it,

this was his second one and I believe was a 9 or 10 second car...

point is, the guy knows his cars and trucks... his Chevy Truck was frickin fast... even his wifes Tahoe is decked out.

agreed they are like the rejects from jiffy lube or something, i have had to argue with them every single time i go in there over one thing or another only to show them i am right and they are stupid. i don't get it, i'm a hobbyist this is their job and lively hood why must they suck so hard? lol (they have never heard of addco sway bars the last 3 times i've been in there , i don't even think there is another company that makes beefed up sways)
