AT temp reading, anyone ?

Hello everyone,
I've joined this forum for more than a year, but this is my first post.
Many good DIY info!

My question is, has anyone found a way (or a plug & play device) to read AT fluid temp ?
I bought a ScangaugeII few months ago but could not make it to read the AT temp.

Long time T4R owner, my wife totaled my 90 T4R in 2000, and I bought the Y2K silver Highlander T4R, as of now the ODO reads 73K miles.

Did not pay attention to mileage until recently, the last 3 tanks I got around 20mpg +/- calculated at the pump (my ScangaugeII shows 19mpg probably needs some fine tune). I usually pump 12 gal (+/-) of gas at around 240 miles before the needle hits the 1/4 tank mark. My daily route is about 17 miles each way mostly stop & go rush hour freeway in the SF bay area.
With the ScangaugeII I see that driving at around 50mph yields the best mileage, at 50mph my engine revs at around 1600rpm when the gear box just shifted to OD and the ScangaugeII real time mileage shows around 29-30 mpg, so I think if you're lucky to live in a location that your daily route is highway with 55mph speed limit you can get higher mileage than the rest of us.

Thanks,
Khan

Welcome to the board and first POST. There was a thread about a month ago giving a code for the Scan Guage II that works for the 99 and newer 4 Runners for Temp guage. You can try searching or if I find it I will post up.
